Hi Tracy,

Your articles are helpful and appreciated. The problem I'm currently faced with is dry, splitting hair. I feel I take good care of my hair yet the lower 4 inches or so are very dry and want to split. I do not use hot appliances except very rarely(once every 2 months at most). I use more natural type products like Aveda Deep Conditioning and Aveda Damage repair along with other brands of natural moisturizing shampoos(Burts Bees, etc). My hair is highlighted with Aveda color. I use a boars bristle brush and treat my hair gently so as to not snap it. We have triple filtered water at home so chlorine is not a problem. I take high quality vitamins and eat organic/healthy and get deep conditioning treatments at the salon when I go and it's like I have not made any progress. Especially the front peices of hair are the worst. They get so damaged and I don't know why. I've been trying to grow them out(they were previously bangs 2 yrs ago).

I adore light blonde and am a level 6 naturally. I travel a lot sometimes for one month at a stretch. I get highlights because I am afraid of the upkeep of all-over color and the damage that comes with it. The color the woman has on the front of "Your Roots are Showing" is gorgeous but I am afraid it would kill my hair with managing roots...etc. My primary concern is hair health because I want my hair to grow down my back and look healthy. What do you recommend?
