Restore the Life To Your Hair Color

hair-colorHow to Return the Life Back To Your Hair Color… In Two Easy Steps

Do you have plain brown hair that use to shine? Are you a blonde that has often longed for the shade your hair was when you had time to linger in the sun?

Here are two steps that will help bring back the rich luster and shine to you natural hair or color treated hair color that you have often wished for. And it won’t break your beauty budget to do it.

Reason for Fading:

As the hair ages, our natural hair color can fade to a drab or flat shade, which adds years to our skin tone and overall appearance. Some women don’t want to start to tint their hair or with our present economy just don’t have the money to add another personal service to their list.

The reason for the fading is within the hair shaft where different degrees of hair color pigments lie. These color pigments are in yellow, red and blue (which appears as brown.) When the hair ages the first color pigments to fade out are yellow and red. These two pigments give the hair the sheen that is needed for the all over shine in the hair shaft. When a bright light or the sun hits the hair strand it reflects back luster and shine. When these two color pigments disappear all that remains is the blue color pigment that does not shine. This can be fixed in two easy steps.

Step One:

You can start using a color conditioner to help return the missing color pigments to the hair shaft. These are Semi-Permanent colorants that come in many shades to add a different tone or to match your present shade of your hair. They will last for almost a month. You can either go to a salon, beauty school, or purchase these in a beauty supply store or a local CVS store.  These can be used even if you tint your hair and don’t wish to have the full permanent color service again…you can simply start using these Semi-Permanent colorants instead of the permanent hair color.

Step Two:

If you don’t wish to tint your hair but wish to add luster to your natural hair color then you will need to add the missing pigments with a Hair Color Refresher, Color Gloss, or a Color Glaze. These are created with shampoo formulas or are mixed with conditioners. They are used at least once a week for the very best results.

You will need to watch which brand you use because some of the drugstore brands coat the hair shaft and leave it dull or you will notice it starts to grab more color on the ends of the hair shaft which you don’t want to happen. You can also request a gloss when you have a haircut, it will be an extra charge so be sure to question the cost when you call for your appointment.

This product is not a complicated product you simply shampoo with it in the shower, because it is so simply to use. This is the reason why I created the Hair Color Refresher that is listed under coloursplash! If you don’t want to spend a lot of money and don’t want a product to coat the hair, but want it to give beautiful shine this product does just that. It blends into your hair or you can choose a shade to add a bit of blonde or red over tone to the hair shaft. These can be used over natural hair color or color treated hair to the life back to dull drab hair.

One more thing…

You can use all the hair color products to add color pigments, but if you don’t keep your hair in impeccable condition you can use all the shades in a product line and get poor results. You need to keep your hair cut within a reasonable time and use treatments to help keep it in good health.  Let me know if you get stuck and need information regarding products you might be using, but not giving the results you are looking for…I can direct you.
