From the very first day that I walked through the doors of Clairol’s New York headquarters thirty years ago, I knew that I wanted to dedicate myself to the art and science of hair color. Testing products as a brand-new trainee in Clairol’s hair color research and development lab, I was fascinated by the way that even the subtlest chemistry changes could create dramatically different tones and shades.
During the following years, I worked as the International Training Director for industry leaders such as Clairol, L’Oreal, Redken Laboratories, and Vidal Sassoon, which kept me at the leading edge of chemicals that would help improve hair color fading and gray coverage.
While working with celebrities in the entertainment industry I have also stayed in the lab–formulating my own line of hair color to help eliminate hair color fading, and blend in gray hair—which is a constant complaint by most women that have hair color. After my first product sold out on QVC in record time, I knew that women were looking for at-home hair color products that did not contain peroxide, ammonia or alcohol, which is true of coloursplash!
